Inspect your property
Do a quick walk thru your property and look for things that may cause problems now or in the future. Start at your property line and work your way in. Make sure to inspect fences, and trees at your property line, as well as, trees that may be hanging over onto your property from your neighbor’s house. They should look healthy and not intruding onto your property. Large branches that are starting to cross your property boundaries should be monitored and trimmed, as necessary. It’s always a good idea to consult with the homeowner before taking matters into your own hands and doing so will help maintain good neighbor relations.
Prune dead limbs and remove dead trees
Prune overgrowth to promote healthy growth, and remove dead, diseased, or unhealthy limbs and branches. Doing so when you notice an issue is your best bet. Unhealthy trees and dead limbs hanging around your property will become liabilities once the next summer storm blows thru town.
